Privacy Policy

Effective date: 24 August 2025

Frenno (“Frenno”, “we”, “our”, “us”) provides a mobile app to scan receipts and track warranties. This Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights available to you. By using our app or website, you agree to this Policy.

  1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: Name and email if you provide them.

  • Content you add: Receipts, warranty details, notes, and images that you choose to store in the app.

  • Device information: Device model, operating system version, app version, language, and basic diagnostics used for app functionality and troubleshooting.

  • Usage information: Non-sensitive in-app actions (e.g., which screens are used) to improve features.

  • Camera access: Used to capture receipts; images remain on device unless you submit them for processing.

  • Contact information: If you contact us (e.g., via in‑app form or email), we process your name, email, and message to respond.

  • Notifications token: If you enable push notifications, we process a device token to deliver them.

  1. How We Use Information

  • Provide and improve app features (receipt scanning, warranty tracking, reminders).

  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you.

  • Send optional notifications and reminders you enable (e.g., warranty expiry).

  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, and debug issues.

  • Comply with legal obligations.

  1. On‑Device vs. Cloud Processing

Where available, text extraction and image handling occur on your device. If on‑device processing is unavailable or you opt into server processing, we may use a secure cloud service solely to extract text/fields from the receipt image. Images and extracted data transmitted for this purpose are sent over encrypted connections and are deleted from processing systems after completion.

  1. Third‑Party Services

We use trusted providers to support core features:

  • Push notifications: Platform services to deliver notifications you opt into.

We do not sell your personal data. Third‑party providers act under contracts requiring appropriate confidentiality and security safeguards.

  1. Legal Bases (EEA/UK where applicable)

We process personal data based on:

  • Contract: To provide and operate the app you request.

  • Consent: For optional features (e.g., notifications) and where required by law.

  • Legitimate interests: To improve and secure our services.

  • Legal obligation: Where laws require retention or disclosures.

  1. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the service and for legitimate purposes including security and legal compliance. You can delete receipts, warranties, and (where available) your account at any time. When no longer needed, we delete or anonymize data.

  1. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and restricted access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

  1. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data.

  • Withdraw consent (e.g., disable notifications in app settings).

  • Request a copy of your data.

  • Object to or restrict certain processing (EEA/UK in some cases).

  • California residents: You have the right to know, delete, correct, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by California law.

To exercise rights, contact us at support@frenno.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling requests.

  1. Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in EEA). We do not knowingly collect such data. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

  1. International Transfers

We may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual protections) to ensure your data remains protected.

  1. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
